Another post from the road. This one’s a little on the vitriolic side, quite unintentionally. Part I is about diet. Part II will be on training. At some point a couple of weeks ago I found myself standing in my kitchen shouting “YES!” at the top of my lungs at my speakers. Note I used an [...] -

This one’s coming at you from the road.* I say road. I mean chair. By chair I mean uncomfortable bastard row of seats in Gatwick airport, tapping away on the excellent Wordpress App for iPhone. What am I doing here? I’m waiting until tomorrow morning before they let me check in for my flight to [...]

How’s the IFing going? What type of protocol you using? I was IFing in Dec/Jan and ended up totally fucked.
In reply to - Jake Weiskoff posted an update in the group BAMF30: Spicy white fish salad for brunch brekkie later. Doing a little IFing up in this BAMF30. · View -
Agreed. I meet with the toughest resistance from some of my most loved friends who haven’t the power to change their shit up. Be a beacon for them.
In reply to - Laura Tanner posted an update in the group BAMF30: Repeated yesterdays brekkie because it was oddly satisfying. Trying to ignore the fact that it is Cinco de Mayo and there are usually all kinds of treats with my name on them(margaritas anyone). Definitely have caught some shit for diet, haters gonna hate and all that. I know [...] · View -

Day three of the #BAMF30. Have run out of things to eat. I can never manage this. It’s impossible.
IS. IT. FUCK. Man survived on this type of “restricted” diet for thousands of years. Just because peanut butter, Ben & Jerry’s and pizza exists now, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good idea to eat it. In my day [...]

Well, are you new to Paleo? Sounds like it. It may take a while to become fat adapted, but why not try funning fasted and see how it affects you? Fuel for your efforts. What type of distances are you talking?
I train fasted for lifting and sprinting. Give it a bash.
-
Of course. Not recommended though. A huge amount of sugar for little nutritional reward. All fruit is Paleo, but logic dictates that avoiding sugar / fructose – in any form – is a bright idea in terms of long term health and longevity.

I had lamb burgers and oven-baked kale last night. Was awesomazing.
In reply to - Jake Weiskoff posted an update in the group BAMF30: Grocery store was having a sale on ground NZ lamb patties @ ~$4.50/lb. Bought out the lot of it. Dinner tonight is going to be grilled Lamb patties with grilled onion, avocado, and a big ass salad. · View -
Watched Thor. Utter pish, but makes me want to stride about talking about mortals and smashing mugs when I want more coffee.
Came home and said ”This mortal body has grown weak. I require sustenance.” Then I ate two poached eggs.
No bones.
Night night. -

Nah. Sweet potato is a root tuber. Stem tubers are a no-no. The caveat is that one isn’t eating a mountain of it each meal.
In reply to - Laura Tanner posted an update in the group BAMF30: Chipotle Carrot Turkey Burger with steamed Broc (I have a shit ton of it and apparently I am unadventurous) with avocado all smushed in, favorite boring ass dinner, but tasted effing delicious after stadiums! oh, what missing? my wine, but not my WHINE

Totally right. Your palate changes so much that a handful of blueberries tastes mind blowing.
In reply to - Aimee Sutherland posted an update in the group BAMF30: Day 1 has been torture…no candy and no soda! This will be difficullt!! · View -
Sweet potato is my go-to guy currently. I buy a ton, boil it. Mash it, freeze it in batches. I’ve started going higher carb recently, being keto / VLC wasn’t working for my body any longer – now that I have to work on my metcon and build mass / strength at the same time, I’d die without it. Might sound weird, but sticking some cinnamon on it is AWESOME on the plate.
