I went through the registration process just to leave this comment and say “thanks” for putting this post up. I was talking to one of those Medio-crites on the phone just yesterday and they were very busily trying to convince me to eat more cake, bikkies, butter etc on the basis that “everything is OK [...]

What’s new?!!! Aside from all those people sneering at my discovery of crossfit and paleo conversion? I am doing great and it is just too bad for these people

ThumbnailAnother post from the road. This one’s a little on the vitriolic side, quite unintentionally. Part I is about diet. Part II will be on training. At some point a couple of weeks ago I found myself standing in my kitchen shouting “YES!” at the top of my lungs at my speakers. Note I used an [...]

This one’s coming at you from the road.* I say road. I mean chair. By chair I mean uncomfortable bastard row of seats in Gatwick airport, tapping away on the excellent Wordpress App for iPhone. What am I doing here? I’m waiting until tomorrow morning before they let me check in for my flight to [...]

i have been good, no cheats, but am having trouble getting enough meals in during the day. on the flip side of that though, i have been sleeping a ton! have switched up my training routine so my schedule and my body are totally out of sync right now. am off to crossfit milford tomorrow to photograph a 1st responders challenge. a few of the stamford firefighters that i train with are competing. hope everyone has a good weekend.

I just spent 3 days driving across the country and 4 days in Las Vegas and I can honestly say I have not cheated! No coffee, no crap and I feel awesome!

Thanks! The drive was about 32 hours and took 3 days, but it wasn’t bad at all.

Been playing around with post workout carbs as a dessert item and I think I might have found a sweet deal. Microwave/boil a mess of sweet potatoes or yams and peel the suckers. Add a large dose of whole coconut milk and pure cinnamon to the yams in a mixing bowl. If you have a hand held blender you can go to town in the bowl, or combine all ingredients in a traditional blender until smooth. Pour into a storage container and toss into the freezer to sccop out like a frozen custard after your workouts.

Seems to satiate my sweet tooth and work as PWO carbs.

On a side note, I fell prey to a gluten bomb in restaurant korean short ribs last night. :(

Bit quiet in here, how we all doing?

Just a quick check in with my BAMF’s! Apologies for my lack of posts – I’m in the midst of a cross-country relocation. That being said, it’s been quite the challenge sticking to Paleo while traveling but we’re doing what we can. We bought a two burner propane stove and have taken to cooking Paleo meals in hotels and parking lots behind various fast food joints. Unfortunately, I’ve already made some concessions that I would not have made at home. For example, I totally drank black coffee and ate sunflower seeds to help me with the 10 hr drives. (And so now I feel like I’m not adhering to the challenge rules and I hate that fact.)

The good news is that this BAMF Challenge has saved me. I’m a habitual travel snacker ’cause snacking keeps me awake on drives. But, not this time! If it wasn’t for BAMF30, I’d probably have gain a ton of weight by now. No Joke.

Hope you all are doing well with your meals! If anyone has any travel meal rec’s or tips, I’d love to hear them.

      Hey Jess,
I’m about to experience my own cross-country relocation, so I know exactly what you’re going through! We’re trying to get 11-12 hours of driving in a day, so most likely, we’ll be living off of fast-food restaurants, such as Subway. I too would love to hear any meal or snack recommendations that anyone has for traveling! Good luck with your move!
